What we do

We, the dottland team, are developing projects that connect the fields of art, culture and environmental design and we call them “New Gardens”. ”New Gardens” are interdisciplinary and processual and want to rethink our social understanding of the term garden in a contemporary sense that contributes to our social well-being.
Our work focuses on the debate of the human and its environment with regard to aspects of education, communication and health.

What this means in practise

People of different age, origin, experience and education come together and work on a realization of a shared spatial idea:  creative, individually, and always in a team; independent of any religion or ideology.
We provide the logistic framework, moderate the working steps and publish the results.

Who we are and where we are working

dottland e. V. is a non for profit organisation in Berlin Kreuzberg. With members and partners from different related disciplines, dottland operates on local, regional and international levels.

Why we are doing what

We want to promote the disciplines of art, culture and environmental design as well as the knowledge transfer and the education in these fields.
This is an attempt to create and foster new social ideas and solutions for a sustainable and unifying development of our environment and our society.

What dottland means

dottland is a „dotted land“ – dotted with „New Gardens“. In dottland people from various directions and origins meet. Using different media, they engage and communicate with the meeting place and thus create „New Gardens“.
